KERNING

Kerning - The adjustment of horizontal space between individual characters in a line of text.

Adjustments in kerning as especially important in large displays and headline text lines. Without kerning adjustments is to create visually equal spaces in between all better, so the eye can move smoothly along the text.

In my front cover drafts, I used the kerning tool to make the lettering fit in my pug, for advertisement, as I was too big to fit to size. Kerning was very useful to me because, this way the font size doesn't have to be adjusted, the lettering just gets closer together.

LEADING

Leading - The amount of space added between line of text to make the document legible. The term originally referred to the thin lead spacers that printers used to physically increase space between lines of mental type

Most applications automatically apply standard leading based on the page, but this decreases the legibility.

Looser leading spreads texts out to fill the page and makes its easier for the viewer to read.

Be-funky Photo Editing

The five photo's I have chosen, as options of be the front cover, I edited on a website called Be-funky. 
In many photos, I adjusted the brightness, making the image look more clear. 
As my target audience are teenage girls, in the ages between 11-18, they are most likely to be fashion driven so to make the front cover look attractive I edited my images by adjusting face features and face makeup, alongside effects and photo arrangements (e.g. cropping). The music magazine front cover is going to appeal to the teens, as they will get attracted by the new music "Upcoming star".

These are a few options of what images I could use for my front cover- They are taken from both of the shoots
I think these images could be suitable because my model is looking directly into the camera, so this will appeal to my audience.

The outfits used in these images are fashionable, are symbolism a pop stars wearing such as, Selena Gomez/ Tulisa. In the pop industry fashion plays a strong role, so my target market will automatically be attracted to the front cover.

Experimenting on how to edit images, but brightening and adding other affects that adjust the way the image is seen. Also making the images clearer as seen in the images above. 
I used a website call "Be funky" and used the following tools to edit my photos.
