Page spread Layout ideas and developments

Here are few more different idea's, which I could use to make my doubler page spread look more professional. The use of colours, fit the house style, as my target market is for teen girls, so pink and blue have a nice contrast which is why I used it. 

 

 

 

 

Heading for double Page spread

Feedback Of Headings for double page spread:

• Need to stand out
• The colour scheme is good as it fits the lifestyle
• The glow and drop shadow works very well to make the title stand out and give it emphasis
• Short and snappy works better than a long title (like the first one). 
• Use of changing sizes and font goers well with the page - (Bold and italic)
• The slanted words look too informal and makes the page look messy.

Double Page Spread Improvements

Feedback from my first attempt at making my double page: 

• "Use more colours to make the page stand out more"
• "It's too simple, you need to add effects to make the title stand out, and make the text into columns that can fit from one end of the column to the other side"
• "Add other features to the page, so it looks more appealing to the audience".
• "Keep referring back to the house style, and add more things to the page, making it more exciting, starting with the Heading."

Audience feedback and Improvements: 

• The use bold and thin text, shows the reader what is supposed to stand out more. 
• The colours used continuously makes the page look neat and easy to read 
• Change the bottom image to another model, so the magazine looks like it provides a various amount of stories - Different type of image 

•  I made improvements by, changing the pink colour on the sentences underneath the title of each page, to black rather pink, this makes the page look more formal. 
• I made improvements by making the website text thin (at the bottom of the page), rather than bold.
• I changes the image, by doing another photo shoot, using a different model.

Conventions of a double page

• Image of artist/band article is about
• Name of artist 
• Columns for the article/ interview 
• Pull quote 
• promotions
• Images (mini images)
• Title that stands out (Catchy)
• Each article usually sticks to no more than three main colours, to ensure its eye-catching, but doesn’t put its readership off of the article.
• Websites and information (e.g. new singles) written in a strip at the bottom of the page.
